Expanded Metal is formed in an expanding press. The basic metal is simultaneously slit and cold-formed, which expands the slits into diamond shaped openings of uniform size and regularity. Expanded Metal may be produced from carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and a variety of copper.
